Habits

Diurnal, Feed entirely on the ground, roost and build their nest in trees or pandanus palms. Sedentary or locally nomadic.

Habitat

Coastal Woodland Wetlands, mangroves and tall scrub inland humid env.; open woodland; inland waters and fringing forest.

Breeding

August September October November December January February March, 2; smooth glossy white. Incubation 14-16 days by both sexes, young fledge 21 days.
