Habits

Diurnal, Generally shy and furtive. In summer is an extremely persistent songster. Nest is a deep, tightly woven cup of strips of reeds and other vegetation, firmly woven into adjacent reed stems.

Habitat

Wetlands, Reed-beds; dense vegetation at the margins of wetlands.

Breeding

September to December, 3 to 4; bluish or greyish white to pale yellow-brown. Moderately gregarious, live and breed in pairs but will nest within a few metres of each other. Incubation 14-15 days by the female, young fledge 14-16 days.
