Habits

Diurnal, Pairs mate for life and jointly defend permanent territories. Nest is a bulky cup of coarse grass, bark and twigs. The nest site is variable but seldom more than 5-6 meters from the ground.

Habitat

Woodland Forest, Australia-wide; open woodland; escarpment.

Breeding

August to December, 3 to 4 creamy white eggs. Several broods may be raised in succession. Both parents share nest building, incubation and care of the young. Incubation period 17-18 days and leave the nest at 21 days.

Carnivore, Insects; frogs and small reptiles; mammals and birds. Raids nests for eggs and nestlings.
