Habits
Diurnal, Adults live in permanent territories that are defended in all seasons. Thes nest is a compact cup of twigs and sticks usually placed in the vertical fork of a tree. Rather solitary in their feeding
Habitat
Woodland Forest, inhabits tall open forest. South of the Tropic of Capricorn and north WA & NT.
Notes
Formerly classified as Cracticus torquatus, the Grey Butcherbird, but it now recognised as a separate species, which inhabits the Top End.
Breeding
August to January. 3-4 eggs, greyish-green/blue/olive in colour. Incubation 24-26 days by the female. Young fledge in about 4 wks. Usually only one brood is raised per year.
