Diurnal, Usually found in pairs or small coveys of 5-6, secretive.

Habitat

Coastal Wetlands, Heaths; dense weedy pastures and swampy areas.

Breeding

September to March. Four eggs, pale brown, with spots of blackish-brown. Incubation by female for about 20 days.
