Description

A distinct slim black crest set off by a large yellow eye in the grey head, breast buff-white with bold dark bars. Female: throat whitish, upperbreast grey.

Habits

Diurnal, Hunt at any time of the day, solitary birds, consort closely with their mates only.

Coastal Woodland Forest, Forest of coastal northwestern Australia; open woodland; rainforest; open forests.

Breeding

October November December, Usually 3; bluish-white eggs, nest flimsy structure of sticks, may be used more than one season. Male and female share nest building, incubation and care of the young. Incubation about 33 days, fledge in 32-35 days.
