Habits

Diurnal, Lives and breeds in small groups, and is sedentary, maintaining a territory all year round. Males moult in and out of nuptial colour and in and out of breeding. Female can produce several broods.

Shrubland, Mallee mulga brigalow scrubs in thickets on slopes of hills

Breeding

August September October November December, 3 to 4; white pale pinkish, spotted and marked reddish or purplish-brown. Incubation by female alone 13-16 days. Young fledge in 12-14 days.
