Habits

Diurnal, Mainly sedentary or locally nomadic Up to 80 birds may form a colony of which 20-30 will roost in a single burrow. Only one pair of nesting birds occupies a burrow and they usuallly leave the area after breeding.

Habitat

Open Woodland Grassland, Open country but in the vicinity of streams.

Breeding

August September October November December. 5 to 7; glossy, pure white. Incubation 14 days by both sexes.

Diet

Carnivore, Small insects caught on the wing.
