Diurnal, sedentary and live in small communal groups that include only one female and rarely more than one coloured male.

Habitat

Deserts Stone Country Shrubland, Most of interior and Western Australia shrub steppes and deserts of mainland arid zone.

Breeding

August September October November, 2 to 4; white, sparingly blotched and marked with reddish-brown. Female incubates for 13 days, young fledge 11 days.
