Description

Bright yellow rump, white eyebrow, white-spotted crown, pale eye.

Habits

Diurnal, Mostly seen on the ground and when flushed rarely flies any distance Generally encountered in small flocks. Nest is an untidy, roughly spherical structure of grass and twigs, usually placed in dense foliage within a few mtrs from the ground.

Habitat

Forest Woodland, Open forest partly cleared lands.

Notes

Pretty calls and characteristic flight-note.

Breeding

July August September October November December, 3 to 4 eggs, white or flesh colour, often . 3-4 speckled pale red or reddish-brown at the larger end. Several broods are raised in a season. The female builds and incubates the eggs but both sexes care for the young.
