Description
Moderate, stout, flat-headed frog with the eyes pointing upwards. Dull olive-grey or olive-green above, or grey with light green patches, especially on the head. Often a light green vertebral stripe. Scattered fine dark flecks over the upper surface.
Habits
Nocturnal. A burrowing frog appears above ground only after rain. During the dry period burrows deep into the soil where it makes a cocoon-like chamber, with an impervious lining, which, together with the frog's bladder, is filled with water.

Drier inland regions of all mainland estates except Vic
