Habits

Diurnal, Ground feeder and roost under shrubs on the ground at night, foraging silently by day.

Habitat

Grassland Shrubland, Saltbush plains; treeless plains; lightly timbered grasslands over southern and inland mainland.

Breeding

September to February, 3-4 eggs; pale pink freckled with red. Female nest- builds, incubates and rears the young.

Diet

Insectivore, grasshoppers; beetles; caterpillars.
