Diurnal, Must have access to water and some trees for nesting and roosting. Feeds and spends a lot of time on the ground.

Habitat

Woodland, Rivers and permanent water in lightly wooded savannah.

Breeding

August to December (in response to rainfall), 2 ; white. Incubation about 13 days by both sexes, and young fledge 12-14 days.
