Description

Habits

Diurnal, Perch on exposed branches and give a loud call. Take all food on the wing. Fly with deep and erratic wing beats. Nest is in a cavity in a tree at considerable height, eggs deposited on a layer of wood dust.

Woodland Forest, edges of tall tropical forest; open woodland; timber along watercourses..

Notes

Arrive in Australia to breed in mid-Oct and depart again in March

Breeding

October, November and December, 3-5; white & rounded. Incubation and care of young by both sexes.
