Habits

Usually in pairs. Appears to be nomadic, polyandrous and male broods the eggs

Habitat

Wetlands, Margins of swamps and streams chiefly those covered with low and stunted vegetables.

Breeding

March April May, 4; creamy white or yellowish stone, covered with spots and blotches of black, a few spots of brown and underlying markings of grey. The male builds the nest, incubates and rears the young, incubation period 19-20 days.

Diet

Omnivore, Aquatic animals and plants.
