Notes
Two species of Amytornis modestus once existed in the NT. Amytornis modestus indulkana is still found along the NT/SA border, but is listed as Critically Endangered. Amytornis modestus modestus was found in the MacDonnell Ranges, but is now Extinct in the NT. (Both subspecies have a Commonwealth Conservation Status of Vulnerable)
Breeding
August September October, 2 to 4; white or inkish, freckled with rich red and a few underlying markings of lilac grey.
Diet
Omnivore, Seeds; insects.
